Before you can Send SMS or Send SMSletter or Send SMS Notification, you need to configure SMSletter.

In this article, the steps to create SMSletter groups, to subscribe handphone numbers into groups are detailed also. These are done in Admin SMSletter page and Admin Smsletter Subscription page.


To configure SMSletter:

1. Turn on SMSletter feature

First of all, you need to login in as Admin, and go to Administration Features page, turn on the Smsletters feature.

    

2. Register with Clickatell

You need to register with a SMS Gateway provider. Our CMS is using Clickatell telco, www.clickatell.com which is very reliable and provide reporting tools in their website to track all the sms being used by you.

Once you have registered with the Clickatell, Clickatell will provide you the API, userID and password. You will then need to buy sms credits online from Clickatell.

                                

3. Configure SMS Gateway Provider information

You need to input the provided API, userID and password into the CMS's Administration General Page.

     

Good! You have successfully configured the SMSletters. However, before you can send smsletters, you need to create Smsletter groups and subscribe the handphone numbers into the Groups.

Here are the steps to Admin SMSletter:

1. Go to Admin Smsletters page.

Login as admin or user who has the permission to admin smsletters. Click Smsletters folder to expand the list. Click Admin Smsletters hyperlink to open Admin Smsletters page.

                         

2. Create Smsletter Group

It is a good practice to store your customers' or contacts' handphone numbers into several smsletter groups, which can be categorized by geographic location like states, or consumers category like end users, middleman, etc. By doing so, you can reduce the traffic when sending bulk sms with the smsletter.

In the Name textbox, enter the Group name.

In the Description textbox, enter the description of group.

Click Save button.

Note: The newly added Smsletter group will be added in the list of existing Smsletter groups.

          


3. Subscribe handphone nos to Group

Look for the Group you wish to add subscription, click its subscriptions hyperlink. This will jump to Admin Smsletter Subscription page.

In the Hand Phone No textbox, enter the handphone number of the subscriber.

In the Company textbox, enter the company/name of the subscriber, if any.

Click the Save button to subscribe.

Note: The newly added subscription will be added to the list of existing subscriptions.
